Country House Living
We hope you will agree with us that The Falcondale is a fabulous country house. Built some 150 years ago and set in the beautiful Welsh hills, it has its own unique charm and charisma. During your stay, we encourage you to enjoy the highlights of living within the countryside and all that The Falcondale has to offer and invite you to let us know if we can do anything to enhance your time with us.
The Victorians were ingenious inventors in their time, but thankfully technology has moved on. Energy efficient heating and water boilers have been installed, however the old and the new do not always work in harmony. You may find you need to run the hot water for a few minutes before it arrives, as the building is large and sprawling. Our radiators are all fitted with thermostatic valves so you can adjust the temperature of the room to your liking. With these points in mind, if you do experience any problems with hot water or heating, please let us know as there are many things we can do to rectify issues quickly.
Lighting has been designed for relaxation and ambience. If you find that you would prefer extra lighting, there are reading torches and extra lamps available from Reception. Electricity cuts can occasionally occur, particularly during the winter months if trees fall on the lines. Whether you are in your room or downstairs, please do not panic, as a member of the team will provide torches and candles for your use.
At The Falcondale, the age of the building and its remote location can sometimes turn against us. We hope that you do not experience any problems during your stay but should problems arise, please let us know and we will do everything possible to remedy the situation.
If you have forgotten anything for your stay please ask us and we will do our best to be of help.

One of the disadvantages of being located in beautiful rural countryside is that the television signal is affected by the hills, valleys and weather conditions.
It is unfortunate that this is out of our control and can only suggest that you switch off and relax in the many lounge areas with a newspaper or magazine and a drink in your hand!
WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS
Wireless access is available free of charge within the hotel. Please ask reception for the access code. Due to the nature of the building signal strength is better in some parts than others.

DINING AT THE FALCONDALE
At the heart of The Falcondale is the restaurant and kitchen where we have an uncompromising attitude to sourcing the finest quality seasonal ingredients. Many of which arrive daily from our local network of suppliers. Meat and game come from local farms and estates, and the majority of our fish direct from the Welsh coastline including crab and lobsters brought in live from Cardigan Bay. Our bread is baked daily and as far as possible we use organic produce.
Vegetarians are well taken care of but a little extra notice will guarantee that little something extra special. The kitchen will always, on prior request, cater for dietary requirements and allergies, please inform us as soon as possible.
A selection of dishes from our menu can always be adapted to appeal to children’s tastes and appetites. If you wish for your children to eat early with prior notice.
A full menu selection is available during meal times, outside of these times a limited service is available. A charge of £5 per guest will be made for all room service.
Please note that no alcohol is served to rooms after the bar has closed and we would ask that if you require room service between the hours of 10pm and 7.30am that it is pre-ordered before 10pm.
