Your Story
We met in Lampeter in 1996 and we got engaged on my birthday in Torquay in 1999. We have now 3 wonderful children.
Venue
The Falcondale has beautiful grounds which make a wonderful setting for photographs as these were important to us. It’s a perfect size hotel, not too big, a nice intimate setting where all our friends and family could be together and not be interrupted by other guests as the hotel was all to ourselves. It was also the perfect location, close to home and not far for people to travel.
The Food
We had canapes and a welcome drink when we arrived which were great to keep us going before dinner. We had a chicken dinner followed by apple pie and custard, the food was beautiful! We then had a buffet in the evening for our additional guests.
The Dress
From the moment I got engaged I started dress shopping! Between getting engaged and married we had our first child so my requirements for a dress changed. I found my dress in a shop in Chester and I had my flower girls dressers made in the theme of flower fairies.
The Decoration
Themes weren’t really in fashion when I was married so everything was kept simple with lovely flowers and small favours.
The Flowers
Our flowers were done by Roberts Garden Centre and they were just what we wanted.
Photographer
Our photographer was Raymond Vessy who was from Swansea, we had very traditional photos which we then had in an album. My favourite photo is one taken from the balcony looking down onto the garden of all our guests.
Entertainment
We had a ceilidh band (barn dance), they were a live band and caller. The dance floor was full all night!
Advice
Get married nice and early to make the most of the whole day – time will fly!
