Planning your Christmas Break
It’s that time of year when the kids are back in school and thought is given to Christmas. You may even start to see Christmas decorations in some shops.
Christmas is a big part of our culture and you would have to go a long way to avoid it. Our advice is to embrace and plan for your preferred festive break.
Home or Away
There are pros and cons to whether you stay at home or go away for Christmas, and will be dependent on you, your friends and your family. Should you decide to spend time away for Christmas 2018 you may want to consider us here at The Falcondale…
The Falcondale hotel and restaurant is located one mile outside the town of Lampeter. Day trips can be made to the coast, namely Cardigan Bay and the coastal towns of Aberaeron / Aberystwyth and Cardigan. It is also a gateway to the wilderness of the Cambrian Mountains with many sites available for walking / cycling and scenic drives.
The peaceful Welsh countryside is perfect for couples and small groups to wander and explore.
Choose from 17 en-suite bedrooms available at The Falcondale hotel. They vary from luxury suites, four-poster beds, twin bedded rooms, Juliet balconies and super-king size beds. You may need to look at the rooms on offer so that you can decide which you would prefer for your perfect Christmas break.
A bountiful breakfast will be included each and every day of your stay, with cold options including cereals, fresh and poached fruit, fruit juices, jams and marmalades, pastries and freshly made toast. Cooked options vary from a full traditional breakfast, to porridge, pancakes or even kippers. All washed down with plenty of tea or coffee.
Add to your stay as many lunches or dinners that you care to book. Being the time of year, we would suggest that you ensure you pre-book all your dining – whether it be at The Falcondale or elsewhere. Not every establishment will be open, and some may already be full before you get there.Christmas day lunch at The Falcondale will be a 7-course menu consisting of canapes in the lounge, followed by a delightful menu prepared by our award-winning kitchen brigade. Finish your lunch with tea, coffee and mince pies. The atmosphere on the day is full of festive cheer, happiness and goodwill.
Get the most out of your stay by planning ahead and checking what attractions will be open on which days. Here’s a suggested itinerary.
On your way to The Falcondale call at any of the castles that are on route. Dependent on your starting point these could include

Arrive at the hotel late afternoon and familiarise yourself with the hotel and its gardens.
During the morning take time in opening your Christmas presents before joining us in the lounge for some festive cheer with the team and other guests.
